KEWANEE – Nancy N. Haptonstall, 81, of Kewanee, died at 9:15 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2023 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Pastor John Hauck officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 22 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
She was born February 12, 1942 in Osceola, the daughter of James P. and Esther A. (Phillips) Grant. She married Michael E. Haptonstall on July 31, 1961 at the Free Methodist Church in Kewanee. Survivors include her husband of Kewanee, her four children: Michael (Rochelle) Haptonstall, Esther Mack, Brenda Grabbe and Adam Haptonstall, all of Kewanee, her sister, Grace Hufnagel of Montrose, MI, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, her grandson, Nathaniel Haptonstall and a great grandson, Jordan Nyert.
Nancy graduated from Kewanee High School in 1960. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee. She enjoyed doing puzzles and crafts, reading, baking and knitting and crocheting. Most of all, she loved her grandbabies.
