GALVA – Nancy Jane Ingels, 81, of Galva, died at 4:29 a.m., Friday, March 5, 2021 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Fr. Johndamaseni Zilimu officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John Catholic Church in Galva. The funeral home will monitor capacity limits to maintain compliance with COVID regulations. The funeral home requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
She was born May 8, 1939 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Fred and Nancy (Ray) Lord. She married Roger W. Ingels on August 16, 1969 in Galva. Survivors include her husband of Galva, three children; Kelly Duke of Chicago, Alex (Carol) Ingels of Galva and Brooke (Mike) Fenske of Normal, IL, her sister, Pat (B.J.) Johnson of Mt. Carmel, IL and her grandchildren; Austin, Dexter, John, Ella, Eli, Holden and Harper Ingels and Emma Wallace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Fred Lord and son, Mark Ingels.
Nancy graduated from Galva High School in 1957 and from the University of Illinois in 1963. She had been a real estate broker owning and operating Nancy Ingels Realty in Galva for many years. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Chamber of Commerce where she was past president and had been awarded the Citizen of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. She had also been a member and past president of the Galva Rotary Club and the Galva School Board. She was an avid Fighting Illini fan and enjoyed hosting a yearly holiday open house at her home.
