DAHINDA – Norman L. “Norm” Johnson, 65, of Dahinda, died at 9:40 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, Saturday, October 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield with Cody Niebuhr officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established. The funeral home will maintain compliance with COVID regulations and requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
He was born December 6, 1955 in Galesburg, the son of Richard and Mary Jane (McNamara) Johnson. He married Janice Kay “Jan” Mackie on April 21, 1974 in Williamsfield and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2009. Survivors include two sons, Mack Johnson and Beau (Amber) Johnson, both of Williamsfield, a daughter, Lacy (Cody) Niebuhr of Williamsfield, a brother, Richard (Carline) Johnson of Maquon, IL, a sister, Joyce (Kevin) Scholl of Wyoming, IL, four grandchildren; Austin, Joseph, Caiden and Bentley and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Norm had worked for the BNSF Railroad as a pipefitter and conductor for 42 years until his retirement. He also had been the road commissioner and helped area farmers and worked with cattle for several years. He enjoyed doing mechanical work and welding and was known to be able to fix anything. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
