KEWANEE – Pamela G. “Pam” Cook, 71, of Kewanee, died at 3:31 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025 in emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
She was born on July 7, 1953 in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Everett and Marjorie McAffe. She married Gary VanStaden on November 13, 1974 and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1988. She later married Robert Cook on July 23, 1988. Survivors include her husband, her children; Everett, Elsie, Josina, Sandra and Robert, siblings, Terry and Jerry, eighteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Micha Burhans, a sister, Rose Guthrie and brother, Robert Guthrie.
Pam graduated from Annawan High School in 1973. She worked as a homemaker for the Henry County Health Department for 15 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee which was a second home to her. She thoroughly loved her church and her church family. Pam enjoyed visiting and socializing with her friends. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 12 at Calvary Baptist Church in Kewanee with Pastor Jayson Garcia officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. The burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
