KEWANEE – Patricia “Pat” Anderson, 91, of Kewanee, passed away at 5:05 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2025 at her home.
She was born June 2, 1933 in Kewanee, the daughter of Wilbur and Helen (Bremmer) Freeburg. Pat lived with and was raised by her maternal grandparents, George and Ethel Bremmer. Pat graduated from Kewanee High School in 1951. She married Harold Junior Anderson on November 25, 1951 and celebrated 70 years of marriage before he passed away on November 14, 2021. Together Pat and Harold farmed for 35 years in Burns Township before retiring and moving back to Kewanee in 1993.
Pat is survived by her three daughters; Kathy (Douglas) Greenhagen of Kewanee, Carol Austin of Valparaiso, IN and Christina (Michael) Thurwanger of Eureka, seven grandchildren; Jennifer Oldham, Joshua King, Kelly Greenhagen, Rebecca Thurwanger, Andrew Greenhagen, Ruth Cody and Hannah Morrissey, ten great grandchildren; Riley, Ella, Mary, Jude, Gus, Max, Evie, Gideon, Adam and Annabelle, four step-great grandchildren; Eleanor, Bryson, Connor and Aiden, her sister, Elaine Anderson of Galva and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Kelly of Bettendorf, IA. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, a brother, Bob Freeburg and brother-in-law, Rolf Anderson.
Pat was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Church in Kewanee.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 7 at the funeral home with Rev. Dan Craig officiating. The burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Peter’s Evangelical Church or to the Henry County Senior Citizens Center.
