Patricia A. “Pat” Kenney, 79, of Galva, passed away at 3:08 PM Friday, April 24, 2026 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.
She was born on April 11, 1947 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of John and Maxine (Brown) Pierce. She married Eddie Wayne Kenney Sr. and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jonathan, a great grandson, Casey Croom, four brothers, Ronald, Robert, Melvin and John, four sisters, Jane Cook, Nancy Bloomfield, Darlene Bush and Mary Kemp. Survivors include her children, Shelly (Bart) Ericson of LaSalle, IL, Kelli (Terry) Patton of Geneseo, IL and Eddie (Jackie) Kenney Jr. of Lerna, IL, six grandchildren, Austin (Mary) Ericson, Levi (TJ) Ericson, Lindsey (Austin) Croom, Logan Patton, Kaitlin (Bishop) Crenshaw and Graciana Kenney, six great grandchildren, Crawford Croom, Huntley Ericson, Collins Croom, Cambri Ericson, Blakely Crenshaw and Colton Ericson, a sister, Bert Nickel and many nieces and nephews.
Pat worked as an associate at Walmart in Kewanee for 20 years. She had also operated a day care out of her home for many years. She enjoyed listening to music, doing crossword puzzles and keeping in touch with family and friends via Facebook. She especially loved her children and grandchildren and kept up on their varied activities. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation and a private inurnment will take place at Galva Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
