KEWANEE – Patricia “Patty Jo” Wilamoski, 82, a resident of Allure of Geneseo, formerly of Kewanee, died at 1:25 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at the facility.
Patty Jo was born July 3, 1941 in Kewanee, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Wilamoski. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Wilamoski. She is survived by her niece, Lisa Hartmann and nephews, Peter Wilamoski and Joseph Wilamoski, her great nieces and nephews: Ashley Wilamoski, Joseph Wilamoski and Harper Wilamoski as well as cousins, Michael Laskosky and Carol Pruitt.
Patty Jo was a proud graduate of Visitation School in 1955 where she was honored to be May queen and Kewanee High School in 1959. After graduation Patty Jo held several positions with the State of Illinois and finished her career working for the Kewanee Life Skills Re-Entry Center.
She was happiest around her family and friends. She was a caring person and devoted many years of her life to caring for her parents and grandmother. Patty Jo loved spending time with her friends from school, regularly attending get-togethers and reunions.
Patty Jo’s life-long passions included travel and collecting dolls from around the world. She had many fond memories of train rides across the country and time spent in New York City, San Francisco, Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia where Butchart Gardens was one of her favorite places in the world.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3 at Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. Celebrant will be Fr. Ghislain Inai, SMA. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday followed by a visitation from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. The burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Saint John Paul II Parish or to Visitation Catholic School.
