Perry Swearingen Obituary

Perry D Swearingen, 55, of Kewanee, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at his home.

He was born on September 22, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Philip and Patricia (Jackson) Swearingen. He is survived by his life-long partner, Cloey Laughlin of Kewanee, IL, son, Colby (Jason) Ludwig of Seattle, WA. His daughter, Emily (Anthony) Moody of Elmwood, IL and daughter, Paige (Alex) Bishop of Chillicothe, IL, grandsons, Harrison and Henry Moody, of Elmwood, IL, a step-daughter that he considered as a daughter, Ashley (Dakota) Witte and their children, Joseph, Raymond and Edwin and another boy on the way, all of Kewanee, his father, Philip Swearingen of Mesa, AZ, siblings; Phyllis (Micheal) Kruskop of Mesa, AZ, Brenda (Joel) Nelson of Geneseo, IL, Christopher (Kathy) Swearingen of Princeville, IL, Melissa (Dan) Livers of Chandler, AZ, Steven Swearingen, Wyoming, IL, Michael (Marilyn) Swearingen, Wyoming, IL, Jennifer (Brian) Randolph of Geneseo, IL, and Joel (Stef) Swearingen of Pekin, IL, He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Ann Swearingen (Jackson.)

Perry graduated from West Palm Beach High School and worked as a welder at Great Dane in Kewanee until his retirement. Perry was an artsy and creative individual who enjoyed listening to music, fishing, cooking, being outdoors and he especially enjoyed his dogs. Perry loved his family and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, September 6 at Windmont Park in Kewanee. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
