Phyllis Pilarski Doll Obituary

KEWANEE – Phyllis L. Pilarski Doll, 92, of Kewanee, died at 11:25 am., Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Kewanee Care Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am., Thursday, April 26 at Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church in Kewanee. The Very Rev. Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm., Wednesday, April 25 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with recitation of the rosary at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery in Kewanee. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, 716 N. Tremont St., Kewanee, IL 61443.

She was born November 14, 1925 in Kewanee, the daughter of Leonard and Blanche (Miller) Ainley. She married John E. Pilarski on August 17, 1946 in Kewanee and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1980. She later married J. Al Doll on July 4, 1997 and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2007. Survivors include her four children; JoElla (John) Streicher of Kewanee, Betty (Steve) Stiegerwald of Brazoria, TX, Sue (Layne) Crabtree of Bahama, NC and Janet Pilarski of Kewanee, her sister, Nancy Parrigo of Clearwater, FL, six grandchildren; Jay (Gina) Streicher of Sycamore, IL, Jill (Matt) Taylor of Germany, Jane Streicher of Freeport, IL, Cheri Lenart of Lake Jackson, TX, Chad Crabtree of Durham, NC and Jeromy (Ami) Crabtree of Wake Forest, NC and her seven great grandchildren; Katie and Olivia Streicher, Will, Ben, and Lain Taylor and Kalei and Regan Crabtree. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Robert and William Ainley, two grandsons, D.J. Lenart and Josh Streicher and son-in-law, John Streicher.

Phyllis had worked in the catering business. She was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church and had sang in the church choir and also in the St. Peter's Evangelical Church UCC choir. She had volunteered at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, was an honorary member of the Kewanee VFW, former member of the Kewanee Moose Lodge and member of the Henry County Senior Citizens Center and the Ladies Mission Society. She loved to travel and visit with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
