Randall L. Barlow

Randall Layne Barlow, 77, of Panama, formerly of Galva, Illinois, passed away peacefully in Playa Coronado, Panama.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Rux Funeral Home in Galva, with Pastor Karen Martin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Galva Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life gathering afterward at the Galva American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Galva Park District.

Randall was born on December 22, 1948, in Kewanee, Illinois, the son of Ernest Jr. and Alma (Huber) Barlow. He married Donna Lee Shryock on June 28, 1984, in Carbondale, Illinois, and together they shared many years of love, partnership, and adventure.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his daughter, Jennefer Ann Barlow Radojevic; his son, Jesse Lee Barlow; his grandchildren, Luka Radojevic and Sebastian Radojevic; and his sister, Bonnie Leitch. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Randall proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He earned a master's degree and spent his career as a social worker, specializing in international adoption. He also shared his knowledge and experience as a professor, helping educate and inspire future generations of students. Through his work, he helped connect children with families and made a lasting difference in the lives of countless individuals around the world.

Randall embraced life with curiosity, generosity, and a deep appreciation for people from all walks of life. Whether through his service to his country, his professional accomplishments, his work in education, or the relationships he built throughout his life, he left a lasting impact on those around him.
