WILLIAMSFIELD – Richard M. “Rick” Secrist, 63, of Williamsfield, died at 2:26 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 18 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church with Rev. Teri Shane officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Memorials may be directed to ROWVA-Williamsfield Cougars Baseball or to ROWVA-Williamsfield Volleyball. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.
He was born October 3, 1957 in Galesburg, the son of George Marvin and Ethel Marie (Miles) Secrist. He married Peggy Likes on June 16, 1983 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Survivors include their seven children; Chris (Amy) Howard of Gilson, Sam (Amanda) Secrist and Zachary Secrist, both of Williamsfield, Jake (Aaren) Secrist of Abingdon, Gabe (Lori) Secrist and Ashley (Neil) Little, both of Williamsfield and Meggie Thielbert of Galesburg, his sister, Vickie (Bob) Anderson of Williamsfield, sister-in-law, Alice Likes of Williamsfield and fourteen grandchildren; Jessica, Chelsey, Carla, Brodie, Chloee, Sawyer, Stone, Duncan, Alexis, Nicholas, Cali, Jordan, Marley and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Keith Likes.
Rick graduated from Williamsfield High School. He worked as a shift supervisor at Par-A-Dice Casino in Peoria for 27 years. He was a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church and the Galesburg Basketball League. He coached baseball of all ages and played in the Kickapoo Valley League. He enjoyed traveling the country and taking a trip to Cooperstown. Rick especially enjoyed fishing on the spoon river with his sons and grandchildren.
