Obituary
KEWANEE – Rita A. Greenhagen, 70, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Cremation will be accorded and no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be directed to Cornerstone Community Wellness. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
She was born December 14, 1952 in Kewanee, the daughter of Marvin and Lois (Sellon) Greenhagen. Survivors include her three sisters; Diane (Leo) Dziengel and Lana (Ken) Leasure, both of Kewanee and Josie (Tim) Ouart of Sheffield, fourteen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary.
Rita graduated from Kewanee High School in 1971. She worked as a registered nurse at Kewanee Hospital and at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton and had also worked at Kewanee Manufacturing. She was a member of Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee and enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening, fishing and canning and had a love for animals, especially dogs and cats. Most of all, she enjoyed being a big sister.
