KEWANEE – Robert L. “Bob” Plum, 57, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
A public visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Happy Joe’s Kids Foundation.
He was born August 21, 1963 in Peoria, the son of Charlie and Suzanne (Marks) Plum. He married Jennifer M. “Jenny” Paxson on June 20, 1992 at St. John Catholic Church in Woodhull. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, two daughters, Hailey Plum and her fiancé Bradley Strickler of Kewanee and Meagan (Carter) Heisterkamp of Davenport, IA, three brothers; Andy (Katherine) Plum of Mt. Airey, NC, Steven (Cindy) Plum of Garland, TX and Matt (Kay) Plum of Pelion, SC, two sisters, Pamela (Don) Parsons of Chillicothe and Vicky (Bill) Heimeshoff of Peoria and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob graduated from Peoria Woodruff High School in 1981. He had been the Head Coach at Happy Joe’s Pizza in Kewanee for 16 years. He attended Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and attended at least one game a year. He enjoyed cars especially his 1977 CJ-7 Jeep which he was always working on or tinkering with. He also enjoyed spending time in his man cave. Bob’s family was very important to him and he loved his two special dogs, Izzy and Annie.
