Roderick H. "Rody" Wheelhouse

GALVA – Roderick H. “Rody” Wheelhouse, 80, of Galva, died at 3:40 a.m., Monday, January 13, 2025 at Avenues at Royal Oaks in Kewanee.

He was born on December 19, 1944 in Kewanee, the son of R. Paul and Ruth Mae (Lashbrook) Wheelhouse. Survivors include his siblings; Rebecca of Galva, Rose of Maine and Richard (Rita) Wheelhouse of Kewanee, sister-in-law, Shirley Guss of East Galesburg and brother-in-law, Ron Hepner of Galva and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, R. Marcia Hepner and Rita Mallery and his brothers, Raymond and Roger Wheelhouse and nephew, Russell Hepner.

Rody mowed yards and plowed snow for many residences in Galva with his John Deere tractor. Since 2022 he has been a resident of Avenues at Royal Oaks in Kewanee.

The family would like to thank the staff at Avenues at Royal Oaks for the care and compassion that they gave to Rody.

Cremation will be accorded and private graveside services will be held at Galva Cemetery at a later date. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is assisting the family with arrangements.
