KEWANEE – Roger E. Craddock, 87, of Kewanee, died at 9:52 a.m., Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Courtyard Estates of Kewanee.
He was born April 14, 1937 in Macomb, IL, the son of Ralph and Lola Mae (Larner) Craddock. He married Elizabeth D. “Liz” Pegram on June 27, 1959 in Canton, IL. Survivors include his wife of 64 years of Kewanee, his two daughters, Mary (Paul) Stevens of Los Alamitos, CA, and Susan (Hans) Younce of Los Banos, CA, daughter-in-law, Angelyn Craddock-Breed of Wilton, IA, his five grandchildren; Roger, Benjamin, Erin, Katie, and Kelly and three great grandchildren; Jett, TJ, and Halle. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joan and his son, Dr. David Craddock.
Roger served in the Army Reserves. He was a furniture salesman for Good’s Furniture in Kewanee for over 30 years until his retirement. He also drove a tomato truck for Morning Star in California for a couple of years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee and had been a 50+ year member of the Kiwanis Club of Kewanee having served as president in 1970-71. In his early years he was very active with AFS. Roger was known for his great sense of humor and his love for cars.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 1 at the First United Methodist Church in Kewanee with Pastor Haley Hausman officiating. The visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Friday, May 31 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Kiwanis Foundation.
