GALVA – Roger M. “Mike” Swan, 53, of Galva, died at 10:28 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 13 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Pastor Bryan Griem will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services and private inurnment will be held at Hall Cemetery in Versailles, IL at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family. The funeral home will monitor capacity limits to maintain compliance with COVID regulations. The funeral home requires that all guests wear a mask for the safety of all those attending.
He was born August 10, 1967 in Geneseo, the son of Donald G. and Lula (Smith) Swan. Survivors include a son, Shane and a daughter, Tanya, several grandchildren and several cousins. He was also survived by his companion and loyal dog, Sweety Pie. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Tammy and brother, Lee.
Mike graduated from Mt. Sterling High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He enjoyed fishing, loved wolves, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
