Ronald D. "Ron" Jensen

ANNAWAN - Ronald D. “Ron” Jensen, 87, of Annawan, died Friday, June 24, 2022 at his home.

He was born January 27, 1935 in Princeton, IL, the son of Clifford and Miriam (Eastland) Jensen. He married Marilyn Zellhuber on August 16, 1958 at Visitation Catholic Church in Kewanee. His survivors include his wife, Marilyn, and their children; Michele (Cal) Seda of Urbandale, IA, James (Elizabeth) Jensen of Wheeling, IL, Todd Jensen of Abilene, TX and John (Heidi) Jensen of Neponset, seven grandchildren, Emilie, Joseph, Andrew, Emma, Alex, Abbey and Jayce and four great grandchildren with one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-father, Ed Christian, and a step-brother, John Christian.

Ron graduated from Mineral High School in 1953 and from Barber College in Peoria. He served his country in the Navy. He had worked as a barber and at LTV Steel in Hennepin, Illinois. Ron had served on the board of the Sheffield Historical Society. He was a member of Saint John Paul II Parish and was very proud of his family.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. Celebrant will be Fr, Johndamaseni Zilimu. Burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Sheffield Historical Society, the Annawan Library or the 40 & 8 Nursing Scholarship Fund.
