GALVA - Roselie S. Lewin, 81, of Galva, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Arcadia Care at Kewanee.
She was born on October 25, 1943 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Andrew and Eleanor Elizabeth (Cameron) Rigsby. She married John R. Lewin on March 7, 1981 at the First United Methodist Church in Galva. Survivors include her husband of Galva, a daughter, Nanett (Darryl) Webb of Port Byron and their children; Elizabeth and Andrea, a daughter, Jodie (Kenneth) Musselman of Toulon and their children; Chelsie, Shelbie and Riley, a daughter, Melissa (Matthew) Bodman of Maryland and their children; Meagan, Michael and Mackenzie and a daughter, Sonyalee VanDeVoorde (fiancé Gary Neirynck) and her children; Kaylee, Ethan and Gwen, eleven great grandchildren, a half-brother, Edward Cameron and a half-sister, Sherry Rigsby-Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy and a granddaughter, Emily “Emmy” VanDeVoorde.
Roselie graduated from United Township High School and attended Black Hawk College where she studied philosophy. She also studied floral arts at the Chicago School of Art and Floral Design. She had worked as a floral designer for 20 years and had owned and operated a floral shop in Galva for 10 years. She was co-owner of the Double R Lounge in Galva. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galva. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, golfing and especially her pets. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished the time spent with them.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 30 at the First United Methodist in Galva with Pastor Rebecca Gearhart officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, the Henry County Humane Society-Kewanee Chapter or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is assisting the family arrangements.
