Obituary
KEWANEE - Sandra Jean Fleming, 80, a resident at Royal Oaks Care Center, died at 1:10 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the center.
Cremation will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 15 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born December 21, 1942, in Kewanee. She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Lorie) Elgin and Brian (Lorie) Elgin, both of Kewanee, two daughters, Cindy Paxton of Kewanee and Melanie (Don) Pritchett of Huntsville, AL, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a brother Kenneth (Carolyn) Tuttle of Kewanee and her longtime companion, Bill Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sandra had been a nurse for 30 years and had worked at Kewanee Hospital, Proctor Hospital in Peoria and at various nursing homes in the area. She had been a volunteer at Methodist Medical Center and for the American Red Cross.
