Our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandra Jeanne (Williams) Neubert, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, in Galva, Illinois, surrounded by her family, after a 2½-year battle with breast cancer. She was 76.
Sandra was born on February 2, 1948, in Sheffield, Illinois, to Floyd Williams and Marjorie Jean Wicht. In 1966, she married Dennis VanMeir (deceased), and together they had three children. Following their divorce, she married Danny Ray Neubert in 1979. Together, they created a beautiful, blended family, raising her children, his children, and fostering many others. Their love and generosity led them to adopt six of the children they fostered, building a home filled with warmth, compassion, and boundless love. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Williams and Marjorie Jean Wicht, and her brother, Richard Floyd Williams (Tina). She is survived by her sister, Kristi Jo LaBrake (Richard), her devoted husband, Danny Ray Neubert, and their children: Shelene Marie Lee (Bik), Colene Michelle Verdick (Dan), Melissa Anne Winn (Garth), Tracy Elaine Neubert, Rebecca Anne Langhammer, Amber Jeanne Barnes (Nathan), Anna Neubert, Tashea Neubert, Jason Edwin Neubert (Katlyn), Jared Wade Neubert (Nina), Jacob Daniel Neubert (Angela), and Jessup Floyd Neubert. Sandra was blessed with 31 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.
A survivor of bacterial meningitis in 2010, Sandra was an incredibly strong woman, a pillar of faith, and a source of unconditional love. She found joy in family gatherings, playing games, and serving others. Her intuition, spirituality, and generosity inspired all who knew her.
Sandra will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Kewanee, Illinois, with a private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist with burial expenses and a headstone are appreciated and can be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-us-honor-sandra-jeanne-neuberts-memory?lid=9vrqjj6iqr2y.
