Shige Long Obituary

NEPONSET - Shige Long, 79, of Neponset, died at 9:10 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2020 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and no services will be held. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born March 10, 1941 in Okinawa, Japan, the daughter of Chokichi and Matsu Hentona. She married Nath Long Jr. and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Douglas (Shawn) Long of Neponset, grandchildren; Abby (Steve) Blades, Cheri Long, Brandy (Sean) Kellenberger and Nathan (Samantha) Long and great grandchildren; Jack and Violet Kellenberger and Rylee and Lucas Blades. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Shige was a retired seamstress who enjoyed scratch off tickets, going to the riverboat and sewing.
