KEWANEE – Shirley A. Cook-Fuller, 86, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Kewanee Care Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Rev. Kevin Drane officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Concord Cemetery in Concord, IL. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
She was born February 10, 1935 in Jacksonville, IL, the daughter of Clyde and Helen (Patterson) Smith. She married Max Cook and he preceded her in death. She later married Delven Fuller and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Lee (Rachel) Cook of Kewanee, two step-sons, Bill Fuller and Dave (Diane) Fuller, step-daughter, Jeanie (Ron) Gray and a bonus daughter whom she helped raise, Nancy (Braden) Retherford. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Watts, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Jo Lynn Cook, two step-daughters, Elizabeth Shaw and Diana Strickland, a step-son, Donald Fuller and a brother, Edward Smith.
Shirley graduated from Triopia High School in Concord, IL. She had worked as a bookkeeper at Louis Lakis Ford in Galesburg. In her early years she enjoyed bowling and had belonged to several card clubs with both of her husbands. She also enjoyed socializing and having coffee with friends.
