Stephen Swearingen Obituary

KEWANEE – Stephen T. Swearingen, 72, of Kewanee, died at 1:05 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at his home.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of his Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 at the American Legion in Kewanee where military rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 26, 1949 in Kewanee, the son of Norman and Jesse (Green) Swearingen. He married Cindy Moore on August 28, 2000. Survivors include his wife, three sons; Stephen T. Bornsheuer, Shawn Swearingen and Stephen C. (Holly) Swearingen, two daughters, Holly Swearingen and her fiancé Rob DeVenney and Ashley (Justin) Patterson, three step-daughters; Michelle (Mike) Beolet, Dawn Moore and Stephanie Ceron, three brothers; Frank, Jeff and Kent, three sisters; Betty Jo, Sue and Brenda, grandchildren; Mary, Shawn, Keeley, Dylan, Diamond, Nathaniel, Sara, Jessica, Major, Douglas, Abigail (Dave), Trevor, Evan, Cameron, Kaden, Stephen, Samantha, Nash and Joshuwa and a great grandchild, Elizah. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Sandy, Eddie, Butch, Sally and Jeanette.

Stephen served his country in the Naval Air. He had worked as a truck driver until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing locally, cooking, listening to country western music and trucking across the country.
