Steven R. "Steve" Bialobreski

KEWANEE – Steven R. “Steve” Bialobreski, 69, of Kewanee, died at 3:23 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2020 at his home.

Cremation will be accorded and a private memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 17 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee.  Bishop Jerry Rafalko will officiate. Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice.

He was born October 28, 1950 in Kewanee, the son of Frank and Jennie (Fritch) Bialobreski. He married Linda K. Nelson on June 8, 1974 in Kewanee and she preceded him in death on January 15, 2007. He later married Susan Vetter Stontz on June 13, 2020. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, his two sons, Kurt (Rebecca) Bialobreski of Princeville and Scott (Anne) Bialobreski of Peoria, three step-children; Jamie Stontz of Kewanee, Bradley (Annie) Stontz of Kewanee and Jerome (Shari) Stontz of Chicago, a brother, Frank (Jan) Bialobreski Jr. of Camarillo, CA, a sister, Irene (Steve) Dooley of Kewanee, five grandchildren; Reese, Harper, Grace, Daniel and Luke, five step-grandchildren, Tierra, Alexia, McKensey, Elias and Maci, three step great grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Diane Verdick of Hoopole and his trusty companion, Cooper.  He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Steve graduated from Kewanee High School in 1968. He was project superintendent for Advanced Asphalt until his retirement in 2010. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan who enjoyed hunting and golfing. Steve never met a stranger or missed a meal and he especially liked “shooting the breeze.”
