KEWANEE- Suenjae K. Ostrowski, 65, of Kewanee, died at 3:29 p.m., Monday, October 13, 2025, in the emergency room at OSF Saint Luke Medical Center.
She was born August 18, 1960, in Kewanee, the daughter of Charles “Bill” and Sandra (Yelm) Pollock. She married Terry Ostrowski in 1985, and though they later divorced, were able to remain friends until his death. Survivors include her mother of Englewood, FL, her two sons, Richard (Talitha) Pollock of North Port, FL and Joe Pollock of Kewanee, her daughter, Ashley Ostrowski of Kewanee, three brothers; John (Kim) Pollock of Chatham, IL, Charles Pollock Jr. of Victoria and Rock (Shawna) Pollock of Florida, two sisters, Tabitha (Abe) Hershberger of Arkansas and Shanna Pollock of Peoria, three granddaughters, Genevieve, Chloe, and Penylope all of North Port, FL, cousin, Sheree Yelm of Kewanee and many other cousins, aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her father, a brother William “Mike” Pollock, granddaughter Gabriella Martin, her niece Jamie Sue Pollock and special friend Marvin Rasmussen.
She attended Kewanee Schools and later Black Hawk College where she studied nursing and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked for many years at Toulon Health Care Center, until her early retirement due to health problems. Sue had a love for dogs, especially her beloved dogs Johnny and Cleo. She had the greatest spirit for life.
Cremation will be accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m., Thursday, October 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee followed by graveside services at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Cemetery. Following the services there will be a celebration gathering at Hill Church in Kewanee beginning at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to her family.
