KEWANEE - Susan “Sue” Elizabeth Vogt, 67 passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. She was born on February 18, 1954 in Kansas City, MO to Theodore and Betty (Rowe) Harriman. She married Kraig L. Vogt in California on June 10, 1972. He survives.
She is also survived by her three children, Kraig (Karla) Vogt, April (Matt Jackson) Vogt, and Jill (Chip) Kinsella all of Kewanee; twelve grandchildren, Zoey Vogt of Charleston, SC, Keeghan Kinsella, Elizabeth “Liz” (John) Derr, D’hnae Jackson, Shauri Vogt, Roxee Jewell, Edward and Katilyn Fewster, all of Kewanee, Solitaire Vogt and Domyno (Sierra) Goodman-Vogt, both of Indianapolis, IN, Amara Murchison of Miami, FL, and Taja (Matthew) Medellin of Clarksville, KY; five great-grandchildren, Eliza and Jack Derr, Elijah Vogt, and Isabelle Jewell, all of Kewanee and Jaceyon Vogt of Indianapolis, IN; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her five fur babies, Macy, Lucy, Mindy, George, and Bailey.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents and a grandson, Stone Vogt.
Sue graduated from Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, CA, and attended Blackhawk College. Before she became a homemaker, she devoted her time to helping individuals with special needs. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her fur babies, watching her grandchildren play sports, doing jigsaw puzzles, and vacationing when she was able to. Sue really looked forward to her monthly dinners with her friends. Kraig was the love of her life. She cherished every moment she had with him. Sue will be loved and missed by many.
Cremation will be accorded and a public visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Private family services will be held with Rev. Dr. William R. Toliver officiating. Memorials may be directed to her husband to help offset her medical bills.
