GALVA – Susan A. “Sue” Goodale, 74, of Rock Island, formerly of Galva, died at 6:17 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at her home.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Rev. Randy Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Sue Goodale Memorial Fund. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.
She was born December 30, 1945 in Peoria, IL, the daughter of Donald and Beulah (Bolin) Anderson. She married John E. Goodale on October 24, 1965 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Galva. He survives as does a daughter, Sally (Jeremy) Rogers of Milan, IL, five grandchildren; Timothy (Lisa) Anderson of Dawson, TX, Seth Anderson of Blooming Grove, TX, Lindsay (Casey) Snodgrass of Waco, TX and Lauryn Rogers and Brexton Rogers, both of Milan, IL, three great grandchildren, Aimee and Luke Anderson and Nick Snodgrass, her sister, Patricia (Wayne) Thomson of Oak Run and three brothers, David Anderson of Galva, Doug (Betty) Anderson of Oak Run and James “Jim” (Janice) Anderson of Galva. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Amy Goodale Anderson and a brother, Larry in infancy.
Sue had worked at Dixline in Galva as a line worker. She had also worked at the Oak Shoppe in Kewanee, as a museum curator, as an office clerk at the Knox County Courthouse and in the meat department at the former Jack & Jill Store in Galva. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, the Galva Lions Club and a former member of the Galva Sorority. She had enjoyed country swing dancing and was a member of the Boot Kickers. She enjoyed baking, sewing and card playing but her greatest passion was her children and the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
