Susan K. "Sue" Wyant

KEWANEE – Susan K. “Sue” Wyant, 71, of Kewanee, formerly of Galva, died Wednesday, July 5, 2023 in Galva.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 10 at Encounter Church in Kewanee with Pastor Stephen McGough officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will follow at Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Henry County Humane Society. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born December 30, 1951 in Kewanee, the daughter of Robert Eugene and Donna Jean (Endres) Royce. She married Calvin M. “Mike” Wyant on December 30, 1972 and he preceded her in death on April 29, 2010. Survivors include her son, Cory (Angie) Wyant of Kewanee, her daughter, Emmy (Eric) Allen of Peoria, her sister, Kathleen Royce-Kelley of Cambridge and five grandchildren; Marcus, Christopher, Daniel, Abigail and Caleb. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Steve Royce and granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Sue had been a homemaker and had worked in the kitchen at the Kewanee Care Home and in her early years had done house cleaning. She had attended the Assembly of God Churches in Kewanee and Galva. She loved animals and enjoyed baking, planting flowers and shopping and was an avid walker.
