Thomas L. DePauw Sr.

KEWANEE – Thomas Lee DePauw Sr., 71, of Kewanee, died at 5:10 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2024 at his home.

He was born December 2, 1952 in Kewanee, the son of Ervin Willard and Audrey Ethel (Middleton) DePauw. He married Peggy S. Murphey on October 14, 1988 in Clinton, IA. Survivors include his wife of Kewanee, his children; Thomas DePauw Jr., Samantha DePauw and her significant other Jack Halsted and Tiffany DePauw (John Morris), step-children; Ray Williams III (Alex Roy), Mark Williams (Gina Webb) and Steven Williams, two brothers, Jerry (Karen) DePauw and Richard (Debra) DePauw, two grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Thomas had worked for J.B. Rombach in Neponset. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed gardening, cooking and grilling and listening to classic rock and blues music. He also enjoyed hanging out with his friends and visiting wineries and breweries.

Cremation will be accorded, and a Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5 at the Kewanee American Legion Hall.  Memorials may be directed to his family. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
