Thomas Vincent St. Leger, age 90, was born on April 25, 1929 in Hyde Park, Chicago, IL. Tom attended St. Thomas the Apostle Grammar School and Mount Carmel High School in Chicago. Tom was a Korean War Veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star. A Master Sgt. with the 179th Combat Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division, Pioneer Division. He married Roberta Rux on March 11, 1961 and they were married for 58 years until his death. He is survived by his loving children, Manette (Michael) Lill, Todd and Richard St. Leger, all from Chicago. He was the proud “Papa” of Joshua Lill and the fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and Richard C. St. Leger as well as his siblings: James (Jane) St. Leger, Bruce, Elmer, Helen (William) Lyons, Pierre, John (Bernie) and Paul (Betty) St. Leger.
Gifted with a fine baritone voice and a love of performing, Tom was a member of several church choirs and the Spirit of Life Singers. He was also active in community theater for over 20 years with lead roles in the Chicagoland area including Theater on the Lake in Chicago, the Des Plaines Theater Guild, Oak Park/River Forest Theater Guild to name a few.
Visitation Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Queen of All Saints Basilica, 6280 N. Sauganash Ave., Chicago, IL from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with Funeral Mass immediately following at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment private.
