Timothy M. “Tim” Strand, 54, of Port Byron, formerly of rural Kewanee, died at 7:39 a.m., Friday, December 26, 2025 at his home.
Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be on Saturday, January 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the State Road Community Church in rural Cambridge with. Pastor Andrew Christman officiating. Memorials may be directed to Living Lands and Waters.
He was born on April 20, 1971 in Kewanee, the son of Anthony C. and Frances (Mahaffey) Strand Sr. He is survived by his mother, Frances of rural Kewanee, his fiancé Janie Holt, his children, Kerrington Strand, Alexader (and significant other Bridget) Strand and Alyssa (and significant other, Rafael) Strand, four grandchildren, a sister Danielle Valencia of Kewanee and four brothers, Benjamin (Marcy) Strand of Bishop Hill, Shawn (Cassie) Strand of rural Kewanee, Christopher Strand of Kewanee and Joshua (Abby) Strand of Galva, several nieces and nephews and his good friends, Ryan and Tera Teel. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother Anthony Strand Jr. and a granddaughter.
Tim was working as an irrigation specialist for Rain Master Irrigation in Bettendorf. He enjoyed kayaking, fishing, camping and playing the banjo. He also enjoyed participating in the Floatzilla, feeding birds and squirrels was a gifted craftsman and could build anything. He was also a kindhearted person and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
