Vanessa Piñon Jacome

KEWANEE- Vanessa Piñon Jacome, 33, of Kewanee, died at 7:32 p.m., Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, July 16 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee with Deacon Martin VanMeltebeck officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Vanessa Jacome Memorial Fund.

Vanessa was born on September 21, 1987 in Fresno, CA, the daughter of Manuel Piñon Garcia and Elizabeth Fierro. She had been married to her husband, Nahum Jacome. She is survived by her parents of Kewanee, her children, Bryza and Jozlyn Piñon and Nahum Jacome, her siblings, Krystal Piñon, Rubi Aragon, Maritza Piñon, Manuel Piñon, Jessie Leyva and Adrian Piñon and step-brothers, Hector and Rocio Morales and several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews.

She had obtained her CNA in Nebraska and had most recently worked as a cashier at Farm King in Kewanee. She enjoyed cooking, baking and cleaning and was also known as “the laundry lady.” She also enjoyed shopping and her make-up and perfumes. She was willing to try most anything. She had become the “Sport Aunt” and enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews and supporting her children.
