KEWANEE - Vicki Ann (Raska) Shoop, 67, of Kewanee, formerly of Galva, died at 6:19 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday, July 29 at Galva Cemetery with Pastor Rebecca Gearhart officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Memorials may be made to the Vicki Shoop Memorial Fund.
She was born January 3, 1955 in Canton, IL, the daughter of George and Patricia (Lewis) Raska. She was first married to Mark Porter and together they had three children and they later divorced. She then married Tim Shoop on July 17, 1997 in Cambridge. He survives, as do her two sons, Mark (Janelle Swartz) Porter of Neponset, Paul (Allison Stanley) Porter of Kewanee, her daughter, Amy Porter of Peoria, ten grandchildren, Karyssa, Brittaney, Emma, Patrick, Peyton, Whitney, Gabby, Jayden, Audrey and Tiffany, two great grandchildren, Kinsli and Jonathan, a step-sister, Kim Wyant, several nieces and nephews and her beloved fur babies, Tilt and Chanel. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, George and Donnie, a step-brother, Kevin Morris and a great-grandson, Kayd.
She had attended Toulon schools and early on was a homemaker taking care of her children. She worked at Galva Supervalu, Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Bridgeway Inc. and was a home health care provider for the Henry County Health Department. She loved being a caregiver and always had a story to tell about “her people” as she called them. She enjoyed fishing and was a member of Little John Conservation Club where she could out-fish anyone. She also had a passion for flower gardening and in the summer, you could drive by catch her on her patio enjoying her plants and yard.
