Virginia L. "Ginny" Ahlberg

GALVA – Virginia L. “Ginny” Ahlberg, 73, of Galva, died at 9:44 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Cremation will be accorded and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 28 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Illinois Cancer Care.

She was born August 1, 1950 in Kewanee, the daughter of Charles Edward and Hazel Drucilla (Brubaker) Blank. She married Roger Ahlberg on June 20, 1987 in Galva. Survivors include her husband of Galva, their children; Tim Conway of Neponset, Chad Conway of Kewanee, Trisha Dailey of Toulon, Dawn Ahlberg of Kewanee, Missy Coaster of Toulon and Aaron Ahlberg of Galva, a brother, Mike Blank of Missouri, a sister, Patricia Hill of Peoria, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Ginny graduated from Toulon High School in 1968. She worked as a receptionist at Ahearn and Associates in Kewanee until her retirement. She had also worked at Kewanee Hospital and at a dental office. She also did landscape maintenance at the Kewanee Dunes and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed golfing, bowling and taking care of flowers. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed time together with them.
