Ward Andrews Obituary

KEWANEE – Ward A. Andrews, 80, of Kewanee, died at 2:27 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Cremation will be accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in rural Kewanee. Memorials may be directed to the Kewanee Food Pantry. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 16, 1939 in Oak Park, IL, the son of John and Anne (Schneeberger) Andrews. He married Sharon “Sherry” Andrews on June 26, 1965 in Aurora and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2008. Survivors include his three children; Julie (Dan) Tuttle, Jeffrey Bryan (Robin) Andrews and Jennifer (Doug) Vickrey, all of Kewanee, five grandchildren; Sara Tuttle (Jacob Paxton), Cali Tuttle, Zach (Alex) Tuttle and Cole and Katie Vickrey, four great grandchildren; Lexi Inman, Wyatt Paxton and Jayden and Ellie Tuttle, two brothers, Duane (Cheryl) Andrews of Dixon, IL and Keith Andrews of Texas, two sisters-in-law, Delores “Lori” DeWulf of Kewanee and Marilyn Bugbee of Mahomet, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Ward graduated from East Aurora High School in 1958 and received his Associates degree from Black Hawk College in 1982. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. Ward was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and was in Kansas City when they won the Super Bowl. Ward and Sherry had also been Kansas City Chiefs season ticket holders for 20 years. One of his greatest joys in life was being a devoted grandfather and great grandfather.
