GALVA - Wauneta R. Lang, 89, a resident of the Kewanee Care Home, formerly of Galva, died at 12:29 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the home.
She was born September 25, 1934 in Princeton, the daughter of George and Allison Ratliff. She married Leo Lang on September 5, 1954 in Buda and he preceded her in death on November 11, 2001. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Lang of Galva, son-in-law, Richard Hagerty of Galva, her sister, Shirley of Princeton, two grandchildren, Tammy Hagerty (Jason Otis) and Teri (Ryan) Stone, six great grandchildren; Brittany, Tyler, Paige, Gage, A.J. and Alexia and five great-great grandchildren; Warren, Oakley, Paisley, Jaycen and Josephine. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers; Harold, Ronnie and Bobbie, two sisters, Lula and Elmerine and her two daughters, Karen Hagerty and Peggy Lang.
Wauneta had worked in the shipping department for Empire Clothing. She attended the First Baptist Church in Galva and enjoyed shopping and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved her family and cherished her time with them.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 26 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at Galva Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to OSF Hospice.
