GALESBURG - Wayne E. Galpin, 55, of Galesburg, died at 4:15 a.m., Sunday, February 11, 2024, at OSF Richard Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Cremation will be accorded, and a memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, February 16 at Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield. Memorials may be directed to the family for a memorial to be established.
Wayne was born July 4, 1968, in Galesburg, the son of Alan and Marsha (Collopy) Galpin. He is survived by his mother and step-father Marsha and Wayne Buss of Laura, his fiancée, Lorelee Dawn Simpson of Galesburg, his son, Wayne (Lisa) Galpin and his daughter, Nadine Galpin, both of Peoria, two grandchildren, Owen and Emmett Galpin, his sister, Carrie (Wes) Peek of Laura, his brother, Jim Galpin of Williamsfield, nieces, Amberlyn Galpin and Faith Peek and nephews, Alan Galpin and Brayden Peek, several aunts, uncles and cousins and his beloved dog, Mia Grace. He was preceded in death by his father Alan and his grandparents, Merrill and Doris Collopy and Albert and Viola Galpin.
Wayne was a forklift operator in various manufacturing jobs, last working for Americold in Monmouth, Il. He was an avid Chevy Man, fisherman and mushroom hunter and enjoyed listening to his outlaw country music. He grew up in the Williamsfield and Princeville areas. He would do anything for anyone and will always be remembered for that.
