Agnes Mary DeWalt

KEWANEE – Agnes Mary DeWalt, 79, of Kewanee, died at 5:55 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 23 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Martin Gutzmer will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Putnam Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Windmont Park Lighting Fund.

She was born August 11, 1938 in Wyoming, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Althea (VanDusen) Scaggs. She married Thomas D. DeWalt on February 23, 1957 in Henry, IL. He survives of Kewanee, as do two sons, Michael (Kathy) DeWalt of Peoria and Tom (Sherry) DeWalt of Sterling, IL, a brother, Jim Scaggs of Kewanee, a sister, Donna (George) Hatchett of Morris, IL, two grandchildren, Emma (Kevin) Kerian and Marc (Emily) DeWalt and a great granddaughter, Margaret Kerian. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Agnes graduated from Kewanee High School in 1956. She was of the Methodist faith and was a homemaker and had volunteered at Kewanee Hospital.
