Connie L. Jacobson

KEWANEE - Connie L. Jacobson, 75, of Kewanee, died at 6:55 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home after battling MS for most of her life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Fr. Johndamaseni Zilimu will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Connie Jacobson Memorial Fund.

She was born October 13, 1941 in Toulon, IL. the daughter of Roy and Thelma (Kelly) Warren. She married Kenneth M. “Kenny” Jacobson on July 2, 1960 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kewanee. He survives of Kewanee, as do two sons, Daryl of Rock Island and John of Kewanee, two grandchildren, Shea and Kegan, a great grandson, a sister, Ellen Copeland of Peoria, a brother,  Oliver (Rose) Warren of Sterling, IL and her housekeeper, Bobbie, who she treated like a daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons in infancy and a brother, Lester.

Connie graduated from LaFayette High School in 1959. She had worked as a baker at Super Value and as a cook at Baker Park for many years. She was of the catholic faith. She enjoyed cooking and baking, watching movies and doing latch rugs. She enjoyed following her grandchildren’s sporting events and was a very loving and giving person, mother and wife. Despite battling MS for most of her life, she kept going despite her illness and set a good example for others to follow in living their lives.
