Sending my sincere sympathy Carole. While I didn't know your brother I always felt somewhat close to your family. Memories flood back of the bakery, playing at your house, and of the help your mom gave mine . She helped mom learn the ropes regarding infant care. As I remember we spent some time together in HS when I was dating Jack Knepp. Anyway so sorry for your loss. Wishing you comfort and peace in the days ahead.

working with Ray at Bradley was always enjoyable and beneficial to the various students/staff we were trying to help. He made it a joy helping anyone he could. He would make many people's lives brighter as well as making them better. i was most fortunate to work with him.

A mentor, a teacher, a friend, a role model and so much more. A person who's time you wish would never end . Truly a blessing to all who knew him. He left so much to so many that his legacy will live on for many years.

My condolences to Dr. Zarvell's family. I served with Ray on the Bradley Student Arbitration Board for 25 years. He was just and fair in the disciplinary matters the Board heard and educated many students on the board about due process and fact-finding. He was a pleasure to have as a mentor and colleague.

Such a genuinely good person, colleague, friend and a superb educator, Ray Zarvell. A precious life who gave so much of yourself to help students and colleagues alike to learn to be better than themselves everyday. So many students over so many years, generations learned from you and your work not only how to be better students, but to be better people. From your words and your actions, created, crafted, demonstrated new beginnings and lasting practice in ways that changed higher education for the better.
I remember well and have been reminded in my own practice so much that I learned from you and your kindness to me in my days at Bradley. I am thinking of you and you are in my prayers.
You are gone from us in body, but live on in spirit, and most assuredly in the lives of the students you helped learn to make a life and a living and a better world for themselves and the world.
Rest in the peace of the Lord and the love of all of us who knew you well.
Amen my dear friend Ray, Amen.

Celebrating the life of a guy who must've had such joy in his life, as he gave of himself to help so many.
Lucky to have known you and been a recipient of that help, Ray Zarvell.
Dear God, thanks for sending Ray.
