Elena T. Padilla

KEWANEE - Elena T. Padilla, 58, of Kewanee, died at 2:47 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 12 at Visitation Church, St. John Paul II Parish in Kewanee. Celebrant will be Fr. Johndamaseni Zilimu. Visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Visitation Church, St. John Paul II Parish. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.

She was born October 20, 1957 in Kewanee, the daughter of Alfonso “Al” M. and Martha T. (Martinez) Padilla. Survivors include her father of Kewanee, two brothers, Henry “Hank” (Naomi “MeMe”) Puente and Stephen Padilla, both of Houston, TX, her sister, Rebecca (Michael) Prince of Wasilla, AK and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Elena graduated from Kewanee High School in 1977. She was a homemaker and helped care for her father. She was a member of Visitation Church, St. John Paul II Parish and enjoyed reading and drawing.
