KEWANEE - Evelyn Nash Richter, 91, of Kewanee, died at 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at her home.  

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17 at Fairview United Methodist Church in rural Annawan.  Rev. Dan Wright will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:30-7:30 p.m., Friday, September 16 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Fairview United Methodist Church or to the Evelyn Richter Memorial Fund.

She was born August 19, 1925 in Andover Twp., IL, the daughter of Willard and Jane (Nash) Lund. She married Elmer Edward Richter on May 6, 1945 in Cambridge and he preceded her in death on December 26, 1995.  Survivors include her children, Betty (David) Grypp of Franklin, WI,  Duane (Deb) Richter of Annawan, Harold (Kristin Jansson) Richter of Minneapolis, MN, Gary (Mary) Richter of Cambridge and Ronald (Jenn) Richter of McMinnville, OR. Also surviving are two sisters, Jean Clark of Geneseo and Donna Dunlap of Milan, sister-in-law, Phyllis Elliott of Kewanee, seven grandchildren, Michael, Diane, Anna, John, Max, Sophia, and Samuel, and three great-grandchildren, Nash, Natalie, and Maddie. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Levern Lund.

Evelyn graduated from Cambridge High School in 1943. She had worked at the State Bank of Annawan until her retirement. She was a 70 year member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women, where she had served as Secretary. She also served as Church Treasurer and Secretary of the Church Council.  Evelyn had volunteered for the ABCD after school tutoring program and had also volunteered at the former Kewanee Hospital and OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee. She enjoyed sewing and creating lap robes for area nursing homes and other organizations. She loved baking and sharing her delightful cookies with those she loved.
