Georgeanne "Gigi" M Toutant

KEWANEE - Georgeanne M. “Gigi” Toutant, 72, of Kewanee, died at 8:44 AM Saturday, June 25, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Tammy Shane will officiate. Visitation will be held  from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Gigi Toutant Memorial Fund.

She was born September 11, 1943 in Chicago, the daughter of Stanley and Patricia (Nanista) Karpinski. She married Ernest W. Toutant Sr. on July 20, 1963 in Chicago. He survives, as does a son, Ernest (Amy) Toutant Jr. of Kewanee, three daughters, Anne Toutant of Elk Grove Village, IL, Tina Durkin and Gina (Shane) Dykeman, both of Kewanee, twelve grandchildren, Kristin (Andy) Padilla, Patrick Durkin Jr., Gustavao  Perez, Sarah Durkin, Ernest Toutant III, Vinny Perez, Alex Toutant, Kevin, Katie, Eric and Gabby Perez and Jordyn Dykeman, a great granddaughter, Isabella Durkin and two sisters, Susie (Frank) Salerno of Sheridan, IL and Barbie (Rich) Parse of Itasca, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Gigi had worked as a cook at Pizza Hut and in shipping and receiving at Billco Products in Addison, IL. She was of the Christian faith and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a way to touch everyone she met and had a beautiful heart for life. She enjoyed movies and magazines and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
