Helen Marie Welch

KEWANEE - Helen Marie Welch, 75, of Kewanee, passed away on January 20, 2016 in Peoria.  Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family at Unity Point Health Methodist.

Private services will be held. Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee is in charge of arrangements.
 
She was born March 1, 1940, the daughter of Herman and Hazel (Collett) Warnken. She married John “Jack” Welch and he preceded her in death. She is survived by her four children; Anita Patterson of Kewanee, Richard Left of Peoria, Suzanne Hamm of Goldsboro, NC and Kevin Currie of Louisville, KY. Other survivors include three sisters, Janet Brazee, Margaret Turner and Mary Philip, one brother, Richard Warnken, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren (soon to be 9) and too many nieces and nephews to count. Helen was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Herman, Ed, and Chuck, a sister, Julie and a grandson. Josh Patterson.

Helen’s many joys included watching television, playing cards, and reading.  Visiting neighbors and spending time with her family was a great highlight in her life and brought much happiness to her. Although her ultimate joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen’s smile will be remembered by many and don’t forget that ornery side that we all loved.
