Arnie will be fondly remembered as a fine gentleman, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, a great booster for his hometown and, for us, a special neighbor. Our deepest sympathy to the family he leaves behind. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Sincerely, Don, Trudy, Kajsa and John

As so many have said "when you think of Arnie, you think of Galva sports," he was always there to help with whatever needed to be done. My fondest memory is Jake's senior basketball team (1990) Lincoln Trail Confernce champs and Arnie was as proud of them as the parents were, encouraging and cheering them on all the way!
Sincere sympathy to Butch and the Girls.

A truly wonderful man! He was a great friend to Galva Athletics and was inducted into the Wall of Fame in 2011. I had the privilege to know Arnie on many levels but mostly because he was the father of one of my classmates. There is not a sporting event that I was involved in that I do not remember Arnie, helping us get to and from the games, holding the door for the team as we entered an opponent's building, giving words of encouragement, laughing with you at a joke or just giving you that wink and great smile. Arnie pretty much treated all of us in his daughter's, Lynn Hanson's Class like we were all his children. You could always tell that if you needed something, Arnie would be a guy who would be there for you. I know the last several years have been difficult on the Hanson family with Arnie's illness but please know we are all thinking of you and we remember the guy that Arnie really was and forever will be. God Speed Arnie!
