Mellody J. Ravelingeen

KEWANEE - Mellody J. Ravelingeen, 62, of Kewanee, formerly of Chicago, died at 11:58 a.m., Thursday, April 28, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Adrienne.

A prayer service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday April 30 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee followed by a time of remembrance and refreshment at Cerno’s in Kewanee. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the prayer service at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Memorials can be directed to her family.

She was born September 8, 1953 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Dorothy  (Moheiser) Schweiger. She is survived by a daughter, Adrienne Ravelingeen (and Jose Chaidez) of Kewanee, two sons, Nick (Erin) Ravelingeen and Fidel Chaidez, both of Chicago, eight grandchildren, Destiny, Nina, Autum, Alex, Isabelle, Trudy, Mason and Sofia, a great grandson, Damian and four nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Kenneth and Danny and her husband, Robert Heidbrick.

Mellody had worked as a Deputy for the Cook County Sheriff’s Department. She was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed listening to Elvis music and she especially enjoyed her loving family.
