Just browsing things from Kewanee and noticed Bob's obituary. I remember he was a funny guy. Once during an assembly he was blindfolded and ate a bunch of bananas while everyone else watched. What a great sport. Sorry for his passing.

I had the pleasure of knowing Bob and Penny through volleyball. I coached against and was honored to officiate his matches. He had great passion for the sport and great love and care for his players. I walked with Bob into the gym at Carl Sandburg from the parking lot about a month ago. This match was the last regular season match for the Blackhawk East volleyball program. Bob was proud of what he had developed but so disappointed with the program's demise.
Penny- you and Bob were tremendous hosts when I worked at Blackhawk East. Made for many memorable visits about volleyball and life.

May Bob's life live on in each of us.

Best to you,
Bruce

I met Bob when my daughter played on his team. You could tell he genuinely cared for people and did his best to make everyone comfortable and at ease. He inspired his players and coached by encouragement. His players wanted to do well, not just for themselves but for him. He had a rare talent, and will be greatly missed. Our prayers are with Penney, John, and the players who all loved this gentle man.

Bob was a great leader of young lady athletes. I knew each time I was able to work one of his College matches, he had a team ready to play. His bench decorum was something I will cherish as an official. He was just super with knowing the rules and understanding the consequences. My condolences to his family.

So sorry for the loss of a truly fine man. I have been friends with Bob since 7th grade. We appreciate what Bob has done for our family as a teacher, a Coach, but most as a friend and a confidant to Coach Cos. They spent many hours together and became as close as brothers. Thank you so much Bob for your compassion and Love as this will be rewarded. you will be truly missed.
