Eric S. Ingels

LAFAYETTE - Eric S. Ingels, 58, of LaFayette and Toulon, died at 9:30 p.m, Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Toulon Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation and a Celebration of Life service will be held later in the spring. Memorials may be directed to Abilities Plus or the LaFayette Fire Department.

He was born on June 5, 1958 in Peoria, IL, the son of Corliss “Jock” and Elva (Fleming) Ingels. He is survived by three sisters, Claudia Andrew of Galva and Diane Lahr and Colleen (Burt) Stevens, both of LaFayette, five brothers, Steve (Cyndi) Lahr of Bloomington, IL, Thong (Barbie) Ingels of Wyoming, IL, Savath (Anais) Ingels and Hung Chau, both of Peoria, IL and Jonkeo Ingels of New York City, NY, a sister-in-law, Lynda Ingels and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Dorotha, a foster brother, Tao, brothers, Doug Ingels and Dave (Coco Diebel) Lahr and brother-in-law, Bill Andrew.

Eric had attended school in LaFayette and had graduated from Toulon-LaFayette High School in 1976. He worked for many years at the family owned LaFayette Home Nursery as a prairie seed and wetland specialist. He had also worked at Brighton Technology in West Jersey. He was a member of the LaFayette Fire Department and was a weather watcher in Stark County. He was an excellent artist exhibiting his skills in various mediums, but was exceptionally skilled in scrimshaw. He was also a passionate participant and attendee of rendezvous.
