Eugene R. "Gene" Anderson

GALVA – Eugene R. “Gene” Anderson, 82, of rural Galva, died at 5:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at his home.

Cremation has been accorded and there will be no services. Private inurnment will held on the family farm. Rux Funeral Home in Galva is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 9, 1934 in Kinsman, IL, the son of Edwin and Genevieve (McCluskey) Anderson. He married Marilyn Stitt on September 25, 1953 in Dyersburg, TN. She survives of Galva, as do their four children, Philip (Raymonde) Anderson of Tallahassee, FL, Norman Anderson of Roseville, IL and Esther Anderson and Carrie Anderson, both of Galva, his sister, Marjorie (Charles)  McCormack of Verona, IL and four grandchildren, Jeffrey Anderson of Gary, IN, Callie Anderson of Galva, Sebrina Occeus of Houston, TX and Aurellio Anderson of Tallahassee, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gerald, Roy and Stanley.

Gene farmed for many years and also had worked as a welder, building water towers in the midwest. His passion was farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed old tractors and woodworking.
