Joanna Jane (Moore) Witte

KEWANEE - Joanna Jane (Moore) Witte, 39, of Kewanee, died at 11:18 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 4 at Rux Funeral Home in Kewanee. Rev. Dan Craig will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service and inurnment will be held at Mineral Cemetery in Mineral, IL. Memorials may be directed to the Joanna Witte Memorial Fund.

Joanna Jane was born December 18, 1976 in Kewanee, the daughter of Howard and Nancy (Deskin) Moore. She married Kevin Witte on December 31, 1994 at the Church of Peace in rural Kewanee. He survives, as do a son, Dakota Witte of Kewanee, three daughters, Bethany Witte, Katelyn Witte and Emily Witte, all of Kewanee, her brother, David Moore of Kewanee, three sisters, Brenda (Brian) Woods, Donna Moore (Stanley Stenos) and Wendy Moore, all of Kewanee, a sister-in-law, Angel Moore of Kewanee and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers, Terry and Gary Moore and several uncles.

She graduated from Kewanee High School in 1995. She worked at Breedloves Sporting Goods in Kewanee. Joanna enjoyed spending time with her family and loved telling stories to her children and nieces and nephews and taking them on walks to find “deerman.” She also enjoyed hunting morel mushrooms, cooking and making pies.
